Another earthquake in Christchurch

Although Im thankful that Allah has kept us safe, I cannot deny that it has been a stressful week for me. The earthquake last week on the 22nd of February 2011 was only just about 6 months after the first quake on 4th September . This incident has made me anxious, nervous and a little sad. We have to be aware for every aftershock (a term used to describe earthquakes with a lesser magnitude) that occurs...Within a day on average about 3-4 of them will occur...When this happens, all I can do is to remember Allah which makes me feel slightly okay…I feel nervous because there is always the possibility that another one will occur. Sad when I see people have lost their homes due to liquefaction , like those living in Bexley or just collapsed because it wasn’t strong enough to withstand yet another earthquake…Many families lost somebody they loved and some are still missing…Up to now 154 are confirmed dead from collapsed buildings especially in the CBD area and one third of the CBD is destroyed. I wish I could just pack up and go home, but I need to complete this work first…Afterall, this is what I have chosen to do … I pray that Allah s.w.t will give me, my dear family and friends and all Muslims and everyone here in Christchurch regardless of their faith, the courage to continue and stay strong .InsyaAllah (God Willing)…
