The other day I had breakfast with two friends. One had completed her phd studies and soon going to her convocation while the other is almost completing hers. As usual whenever we phd students meet up, we will not get away with talking about 1) our supervisors 2) the difficulties in analysing the data and not getting the result we wanted 3) the difficulty of writing, elaborating, and the especially very difficult critically appraising the subject that we are supposed to be researching on!
Anyhow, what I find amazing is that after talking about it and despite knowing or being aware of all these difficulties, we come out feeling refreshed and more motivated to continue this hopefully soon to end journey called phd study! Well, I guess talking about the difficulties with people who understand or are in the same situation does release some tension…now to get back to real Work!
