Poster

A knock on the door and Eric ( my supervisor) said `Siti, could I discuss with you on your poster now? Are you available because I have another appointment in 15 minutes...' I said :`Now? but I have some stuff I need to edit. And he said` but I have some stuff too...

About 15 minutes earlier I had emailed it to our department's Graphic designer and my supervisors. Marney's (the designer) comments through email and phone were simple enough; change to lighter tones, give some white margin spaces, align all your boxes, love the pictures of students and recycling etc.. But Eric (my main SV) comments were not so straight forward: `You need to attract people to your poster not only with the graphs and charts and details but to answer their `So what? question. When they look at your poster this question will be on their minds. You have already some details (pointing to a table on my poster on the screen) now emphasise/summarise on the findings; And you can explain the statistical details along the way.Oh and don't forget, there is an apostrophe after student's participation in the title. ( My thought: Yes I know, your name is on the by line next to mine.)But I did get away with my : Is that all? question...and a surprise look but with a smile on his face!

Ok, I thought I wouldn't have to work this weekend ( some of us are going to a Lavender Farm - all ladies event) but I guess I'll cut down on my beauty sleep..

4 what are your thoughts?:
